A Play by the cats

The cats in the Cat Household are putting on a Christmas Play for the entire neighborhood (well within their home anyway).  They have chosen to portray Santa, with his bright red suit, floppy hat, and black boots.  They chose Tiger to play Santa since he is the biggest of all of the cats; however Shadow didn't like that idea.  He thought that, since he is the newest, he should be able to play Santa.  He stole the Santa hat and is trying it on even as you read:
