I can't stand it!

Just when you think you have these felines figured out, they go and add to the confusion; like the cat shown above.  He cuddles on the lap and purrs if you just look at him.  But, after he has sat on your lap for a bit kneading as they do and purring and looking up at you with those adoring eyes, how can you resist, right?  So, you grab him up in your arms for a nice cuddle and what does he do?  He races away like you set him on fire!  Fine thing!  You want to show him love like he is showing you and he races away with ears down and tail flicking!  Well, I never...

So, should we chase him?  Should we yank him up and force a cuddle anyway?  Not likely as he has claws and will let you know how unhappy he is if you try.  I know, we'll put a collar on him and......no, we hate collars because they get stuck on things and can cause injury.  I know, we'll put a harness on him and....no, that would restrict him in his movements and we like our cats to roam free.  I know, we'll do what we should have done in the first place and let him have his way since we are, after all, his pet and not the other way around.  LOL
