An early day; a cold day....

I woke early to the alarm clock making wierd sounds.  I turned on the light to see one of my cats actually sitting on the alarm.  I shooed them off and checked the time.  I still had a few minutes so I laid back down to "wake up".  As I lay there I could hear the cold air whipping against the house and I saw heavy snow falling when I looked at the window.  Hmmm, I thought, the roads will probably be treacherous.

I started to get up and couldn't because my nightgown was caught on something under the covers.  I reached underneath and tried to find what was holding my nightgown, but there was nothing there.  Again I tried to rise and couldn't.  I took a deep breath to keep from getting angry and tossed all the covers off of me.

Lying all the way down to the bottom of the bed, curled up together like eskimos, were my two biggest cats.  They apparantly were cold and didn't want me to move because it would make them cold again.  Now, with the blankets off of them, they sat up and began to clean each other as if that was what they had been doing in the first place.

Sighing in frustration, I started to get up and found my nightgown was still stuck.  Now I was getting angry.  I pulled and tugged at my gown finally getting the hem next to me and discovered that I had a soft creature there.  I pulled up the material and found the littlest of the kitties tucked into my gown!  He had been grabbing at the mattress every time I tried to get up!  Rotten cats!

I rose from my warm blankets and realized the heat in my room was off.  No wonder the cats had been cuddled up under my covers!  I turned it up, checked to be sure the roads were covered, they were, and crawled back under the covers with my felines!  The heck with getting up today!
