humor, and off the wall stories. I've gotten very little interest. So I thought I would write up a little bit about cats and see if I can draw some interest.
Cats are one of the cleanest domesticated creatures out there. They will lick each other as a sign of affection and to help each other stay clean. Anything that they get on their bodies, they will lick off and ingest it. That means if a cat gets into a poisonous chemical, they will ingest it when they clean themselves. Cats like their environment to be clean as well and they will go to great lengths to notify their owners (or in my case slave) that they are unhappy. They might leave a present in the middle of your bed, carefully covered with the pretty quilt you use; or they might leave a puddled message in front of your bedroom door (right where you will step on it).
Cats are suseptible to most of the same illnesses that humans get and many, like colds, can be passed on to the cat or from the cat to the human. Cats are especially suseptible to upper respiratory problems including infected runny eyes which can cause blindness and death.
Cats are one of the most adaptable animals out there. Being able to survive in temperatures that would kill any other animals. They are also equiped with an ability to get into very small spaces which enables them to heat it with their own body heat much faster. Cats are fast hunters and can usually fend for themselves if they aren't fed (so long as they are outside). Cats will eat almost anything they can catch including, but not limited to, bugs, squirrels, chipmunks, mice, rats, and birds. Cats will also bring gifts to their owners, like a half-eaten mouse, which they will leave in a place you are sure to see. This means that they have accepted you as family and they are trying to help you survive.
Cats have special instincs that allow them to 'feel' the intentions of others including humans. That is why when a cat refuses to go near someone, it is usually because they are not a nice individual (or perhaps they are just not nice to cats). Cats can use their vision to hunt at night, being nocturnal, and they can use their sense of smell to find and catch prey. They are filled with love that they willingly share with their owners (provided their owner loves them back), and they will share with other cats they are close to. Cats are territorial and will fight for what they think is there property, including owners.
I hope this little journey into the cat world has been something you enjoyed. I will try to get back to my usual sense of humor tomorrow. Until then, happy days!
