Well, it’s another quiet day in the Cat Household. The gang is getting some much needed rest
after a long night of fun and games. The
humans are being quiet because they know how badly the gang needs to rest. Even the young humans are, wait…what’s this? The young humans have broken the trust and
started up a band with pieces of their play things! The horror, the noise, the awful
wailing! How are they to sleep with all
of this terrible noise? There must be
quiet, there simply must be quiet!
Being a democratic house, the cats draw tails to see who
will be the one to stop the horrible racket.
They gather close and drop their tails into the center of their
circle. Each turns away and they swish
their tails randomly. Then they each
reach back and pick up the tail nearest to them. The one who picks up his own tail is
chosen. The tension is thick as they
swish and twist their tails to try to get as far away from themselves as they can. The time is up, they all reach back with eyes
closed and yank on the first tail their paw lands on. Oh no, the gang steps back and bows in
respectful silence as Mittens is the chosen one. He must go down the stairs and stop the
horrid racket so the remainder of the group may sleep.
Ah, another quiet day in the Cat Household with a brave, proud Mittens holding his head up in pride!
