Today Salty awakens on the deck of his sailboat--of course you knew all real sailors sleep on the decks of their boats, right? Especially if they are afraid of the dark, no, no, I mean if they are too hot. To continue, Salty squints into the distance, the sun being too bright for him that early in the morning, and searches the horizons to see if there might be any danger that he will have to battle today.
At first all is clear and Salty begins his day with a bit of
fishing for his breakfast. He feels a
tug on the line and suddenly his pole is dragged into the water, and he nearly
followed it in! Furious at such loss, because
the pole was a gift from his brother, he stared into the water to see what had
taken his pole and his breakfast in one fell swoop. What do you suppose he saw lurking in the depths
of those innocent blue waves?
A giant crab! It was
blue-green in color and was larger than his boat. Its beady eyes stared at him from under the
water with an evilness that he could feel all the way on the surface. Grabbing his diving gear and knife, Salty
prepared for battle. Such a crab was not
only dangerous for the rest of the world if it ever left the sea, but it had
taken his fishing pole!
Jumping into the cold salt water, Salty grabbed the large
claw of the beast and began to stab wherever he could reach. Look at the anger in those eyes! I wouldn’t want to be that crab right
now. The battle was fierce and seemed to
last forever. Finally, an exhausted
Salty crawled back aboard his ship and began to care for his wounds. But where is the crab you ask?
HE'S BREAKFAST!
