I am back to show you some of the antics the Cat Household have been up to.

Cats, somehow I never thought that I would see the day when they would rebel and begin destruction of innocent, helpless boxes.  But the proof is right here.  Look at the pain and devastation these poor boxes have taken, all because the cats wanted that space and the boxes got there first--how rude!  Some cats just don't care about anyone's feelings.

What are they up to now?

The Cat Household has taken a turn for the worst, everyone, and I'm afraid that they may not be able to recover.  It is horrible to watch as they bow to those who have proven stronger.......Wait, what am I talking about?  The Cat Household always recovers from their ordeals!  They are wise, strong and powerful, and.........sleepy?????????  Guess that IS what they do best.....

Spring is in the air.....

Oh, 'tis spring at last and the Cat Household, like many others, are struck with Spring Fever.  Many of them sit in the windows basking in the hot sun until their fur and skin burn from the heat.  Are they in danger?  YES, danger of cooking themselves in that harsh light!  Wait, the cats don't cook, they just simmer all day long.  Simmer and bask till the sun retreats and then they race each other from one end of the home to the other in drunken frenzies.  Is it contagious?  You bet, just sit in that hot sun for an entire day and see how you feel.  Uh, wait, the sun makes humans sleepy, hmmmmm, How Do Those Cats Do It?

Oh he is soooo sneaky!

Good Morning everyone!

The Cat Household has really begun to settle into the spring season.  While windows are open, they flock to the space to smell what might be out there.  When closed, the windows offer such a wonderful opportunity to sit in the warm sun even if the accommodations aren't quite the soft spots they would wish.  Uh oh, while
some are enjoying the sun despite the hard surface, others are being sneaky and enjoying the cushion without the sun.  Look, there is Cocoa tricking Tiger into thinking he had the better spot---and he knows it!  Sneaky Little Imp!

Dusty is at it again, and again......

Oh those cats seem to be getting into so much trouble lately.  Take Dusty for instance.  Here he is trying to pretend he is quite innocent; yet the tangle of wires behind him speaks for itself.  "Oh Dusty, when will you learn that there are certain things you shouldn't touch?"

Uh oh, Louis is playing gate keeper

The Cat Household has been very busy trying to keep themselves free of snow and ice.  While they drag their cold tired bodies back inside for a warm cup of catnip tea and a break by the fire, Louie, who was unable to go out, blocked the stairway.  He just lay there, with his eyes glaring and his claws ready and told the others that they couldn't pass without the proper payment.  What payment?  It was their stairway so why should they pay.  There was a bit of a tussle, but Louie seems to have won, so he announces once more that they will have to pay the toll:  one drop of cream.  The others smiled and agreed, handing Louis a cup of snow.  It was white and semi-melted and certainly looked like cream.  Louis let them through before realizing it was snow and tossed the cup at them.

Salty's New Gift

Everyone, Salty is just so absolutely excited about his new toy.  He received it as a Christmas Present and he adores it.  He takes it everywhere he goes.  The toy (a frog if you can't tell by the photo below) even hugs him and cuddles up with him to keep him warm.  Why Salty doesn't even need a blanket or any of his fellow cats.  What a wonderful gift he has received.  Hope the others don't get jealous and decide to tackle him for it.
MMMMMM, my wittle fwoggie.......

Dusty sees colors

Rest and peace have been running rampant in the Cat Household lately because the Holidays took sooooo much out of the kitties this year.  Between the choosing gifts, wrapping, remembering who gets what, etc.  well they are just wiped out.  However, it is time for them to wake up and smell the coffee because the days do continue to march on and winter is hardly over.

Here is Dusty, folks, remembering how hard he worked and......."Dusty, what colors are you talking about?  Did you get into the cat nip again?!?

Sleeping in the Cat Household

Well, the holidays are over and the cats of the Cat Household are really worn out from their endeavors.  They have all announced their intentions to sleep well into the New Year and then----they all raced like mad cats to acquire the best sleeping arrangements.  Who won that terrific race?  Why the youngest and therefore the fastest-----Shadow!
Sleep well Shadow.

The snow storm....

The Cat Household was in the window during the terrible storm that swept through their area recently.  They watched the flakes flash and swirl as they fell from the sky.  They watched the cars slowly disappear beneath a white blanket and they watched the wind push and shove the snow even after it had initially landed.  Though snow flakes are fun to play with, the Cat Household was extremely happy that they were watching the storm from a window instead of from the ground.  Those flakes were often very large and would have buried them fairly quickly.  Besides, they would have been very cold out there.......Of course sleeping was also a consideration; after all, the cats are in need of great quantities of sleep......

Of course they could get plenty of sleep in these:

New Year begins.....

New Year has finally come and the Cat Household couldn't be happier.  They have been working really hard to prepare themselves for the celebration (not because they celebrate, but because the humans become so silly that it is worth watching).  On the night of New Year's Eve, they were not disappointed when their human companions began acting like they were children again.  They raced about, shouted a lot, and giggled incessantly.  The cats of the household had been practicing staying up all night so they could observe and enjoy the silly antics of their human companions, but New Year's Day found them exhausted and needing much rest to regain their strength:

Well, they made it through Christmas, what's next?

The Cat Household made it through the very active and sometimes dangerous Christmas celebration and are wondering what might be next for them.  They loved playing with the decorations that the humans brought out and they had a ball eating everything that landed on the floor, but will there be more?  They wonder about this question, taking a great deal of time and effort on the contemplation, while trying to maintain a bit of feline finesse.  Let's take a look and see how they are doing:

Looks like they are really working at it.......

Christmas fun for the kitties

Wow, what a day the cats had yesterday.  They were in the middle of everything as they chased balls of paper, tried to keep the stockings for themselves and generally had a wonderful time in all the mess.  Sadly, the humans, as usual, picked everything up way too soon.
They'll never find me in here.

You think they are your's, but you should think again.

The Cat Household has been up all night.....

It started with Tiger, who awoke in a cold sweat after a very horrid dream where he thought the toy skunk had grown to human proportions and was after him.  He spoke to the others about his dream and they all tried their very best to comfort him.  Finally everyone was able to fall back asleep when Mittens began to scream.  He, too, had the dream about the skunk.  All of them did their best to comfort Mittens and everyone finally (for the second time) got back to sleep.  Suddenly all of them were awakened by the pounding of something very heavy on the stairs.  They gathered together in fear and watched the door.  Another pound and a large furry paw came into view.  Then a puff of white and a face with red glowing eyes and terrible breath stepped into the room.  The cats hid beneath the bed and watched with fear as the creature made its way into the room.  He swung his huge tail knocking down furniture and breaking glass.  The cats shivered in their hiding places and waited for the monster to leave the room.  Before long, they awoke and realized it had been another dream brought on by the descriptions of Tiger and Mittens.  However, when they came out from under the bed, sitting there in plain sight, was the skunk toy that had been in the living room when they went to bed...............

Grateful for home

Ahh, the wonderful feeling of being safe and sound in your own home.  The cats are so grateful for their protected environment that they can hardly keep their eyes open.........hardly, but they fail quite often.  Take Salty for example:

'Hardly keep them open'

The Cat Household welcomes back their human pet.

The writer for the Cat Household is back on her feet and raring to go.  Here is the first of her blogs since her return:

The Cat Household is so very excited that their human pet is back from the hospital that they have been celebrating all night.  They scampered about, raced over everyone where-ever they may have been and snacked until they could snack no more.  Here is Shadow-the morning after their frolicking-shameful, simply shameful!

Decorations are not toys?

The Cat Household has begun to take down the holiday decorations so they can play with them and enjoy the celebration as any cat would.  However, the humans of the house are not very happy about that.  They have taken the decorations away from the cats and keep putting them up again and again.  The cats are getting very frustrated and have decided to hide the decorations they manage to pull down.

Santa comes early??

The Cat Household has been having a grand time playing with all of the ornaments from the tree and the lights in the windows and such.  They have ribbons and sparklies all over the house.  Then, yesterday, they were shocked to see a flat Santa Claus lying on the couch.  Why Santa isn't flat, he's round and jolly.

They knew in moment that it must be a hoax.
They attacked that Santa with strong cat-claw strokes.
Then, to their wondrous eyes should appear,
a miniature sock he could wear on his ear.
They took just a moment to think the thing through
Then they took off with things they could cling to.
The hat and the sock was forfeit, you see,
Because Santa apparently had gone up the tree.

Those eyes....

Just look at those eyes!
The Cat Household is having a bit of a dilemma.  You see, Dakota has been having nightmares and they have been truly disrupting her sleep.  To combat this, she has begun to sleep with her eyes partially open so she can quickly determine if it is a nightmare or real.  However, her eyes, when she is sleeping, have this eerie glow that has begun to frighten the other cats in the house.  I wonder if the glow means something or if Dakota is just trying to see if she can frighten the others.  I think she has succeeded in something.......

Oh no! They have stolen ornaments from the tree....

The cats are going to get into so much trouble.  And the worse part is:  Tiger and Mittens stole the ornaments and now Shadow and Dusty are playing with them.  That means that Shadow and Dusty will be the ones getting in trouble.  How rotten is that?  How can we help?  Is there anything we can do?  Uh oh, here comes a human....what will they see?  ***GROAN***  I was afraid of that.  Sorry guys.......  Maybe the Booda item below would be a better fit for you.
