I am back to show you some of the antics the Cat Household have been up to.

Cats, somehow I never thought that I would see the day when they would rebel and begin destruction of innocent, helpless boxes.  But the proof is right here.  Look at the pain and devastation these poor boxes have taken, all because the cats wanted that space and the boxes got there first--how rude!  Some cats just don't care about anyone's feelings.

What are they up to now?

The Cat Household has taken a turn for the worst, everyone, and I'm afraid that they may not be able to recover.  It is horrible to watch as they bow to those who have proven stronger.......Wait, what am I talking about?  The Cat Household always recovers from their ordeals!  They are wise, strong and powerful, and.........sleepy?????????  Guess that IS what they do best.....

Decorations are not toys?

The Cat Household has begun to take down the holiday decorations so they can play with them and enjoy the celebration as any cat would.  However, the humans of the house are not very happy about that.  They have taken the decorations away from the cats and keep putting them up again and again.  The cats are getting very frustrated and have decided to hide the decorations they manage to pull down.

What is that?

The Cat Household is in grand form for the coming holiday celebration.  Each of them has begun decorating with their favorite holiday decor.  Even the Newbie has gotten involved, although he is skeptical about the decoration they offered him as his unique item.  He was even more skeptical when the item began to sing and dance before his very eyes!

Cat Household is growing up...or is it old?

Time was when the cats in the Cat Household were all small enough to climb into those funny looking red hats that come out once a year.  Now, however, most of them are too big.  They might be able to wear it on their head, or in Tigger's case, use it for a blanket.

I wonder if that means they are growing up, or perhaps it means they are growing old......None of the cats in the Household are old, are they?
Oh no, they are getting old!  Look at how faded and tired they look!  And this was just after breakfast, I wonder how they will look after a long day.......wait, knowing these guys, the picture will be exactly the same.....

Newbie in trouble again.

That newbie is up and about well before daylight and he gets into all kinds of trouble.  We have been blamed for a lot of it, but lately he is getting caught (YEAH) in his own traps.  He's raising problems with the humans too.  Did you hear about the incident only this morning?  He actually raced up and down the stairs knocking things all over the place and then he clawed his human on the way over the couch.  He then went up the stairs and laid on one of the beds, and would you believe he....actually....oh dear...he actually threatened the human.  I don't know what this world is coming to when felines fail to follow the golden rule of behavior.

Why do they do that?

The Cat Household has been watching, with great anticipation, the setting up of the human's celebratory tree.    Now that it is up and flashing and sparkling, the cats of the household are taking every opportunity to get into it and play with the wonderful toys their humans have set up for them.  There seems to be a problem, however, since the humans don't seem to be happy about the cats playing with their toys.  I mean, what is their problem, didn't they put the tree up just for them?  So why are they getting all worked up when the cats remove the toys and play with them?

Salty is trying to play at sleeping.....

The house is pretty active right now as the humans begin their preparations for the Christmas Holiday.  The Cats, fearing the humans might try to put them to work, are trying to remain out of the way by sleeping in out of the way places.  They have even given up their morning nap for a deep, don't hear a thing, sleep.  Look there's Salty...what is he doing?  Oh, I don't believe this; Salty is pretending he is still asleep so he can play with some of the human's ribbons and not get in trouble.  How sneaky can you get.  "Salty, wake up!"  Oh, he is playing it to the hilt.  Wait until the humans catch him.......

Hmmm, maybe he is asleep....What do you think?

The cats are dreaming

The Cat Household has such funny dreams, you know:  for instance, Dakota dreamt about getting a petting machine for Christmas.  Mittens dreamt about getting yellow paws (since his are white) for Christmas.  Let's see what Tiger is dreaming about:

The toys are coming out again.

Good morning everyone.  What a wonderful day it is in the Cat Household.  Today the pets are breaking out their special gadgets for another holiday celebration and the cats are having a wonderful time chasing and tossing them.  Why even the older cats are getting involved in the games.  Here is Shadow (the troublesome newbie) getting his fair share of problems because the other cats have begun to bury him in the hat and stockings that always seem to come out.  Think he will be lost?  Naw, the Cat Household isn't that lucky......

That newbie is trouble with a capital "T"!

Well, all is well on this crisply cool day in November.  The Cat Household is waking up slowly and and stretching out the kinks from their unusual sleep positions.  Here is Shadow as he.....wait, WHAT IS THAT?  Oh no, Shadow is stuck to it!  Will he ever be free?  Will he find a way out of this horrible situation?  Will he receive help from the human that seems to be guiding this horrid object?  "Shadow, don't give up!"  Do you  think he is stuck that way forever?   *SIGH* it's that curiosity of his.  Someday it will take his ninth life if he isn't careful.

Time is slowing down now that the cooler weather is here...

The Cat Household is really getting into their napping now.  The wind has picked up and Jack Frost has begun to paint his beautiful designs all over the windows.  All of the cats have their different dreams that come to entertain during the cold seasons like Cocoa and his writing and Mittens and his becoming a super hero.  Here Tigger is really into his dream.  Let's take a peek and see what he is dreaming about.

The Cat Household is getting ready for their big feast.

The Cat Household has been prepping (with many naps in the sun) so they are ready for that all important feast that is coming up.  In fact, following the usual family tradition, they have begun to pull out the decorations for Christmas so that they can be put up after the Thanksgiving Holiday ends.  Here they are now, napping away, why isn't that cute, Tiger has found himself a warm soft pillow in the sun.  Oh, and below that, he is demonstrating the proper use of those little stockings you find all over the stores at this time of the year. What a lovely day this has turned out to be.

The newbie strikes again.......

Things are pretty quiet at the Cat Household today.  The cats are all resting nicely (morning naps are so refreshing, don't you think?).  So peace and quiet is reining here today.....Not again.  That newbie is soooo much trouble.  Here he is hogging the stockings and has even claimed the Santa hat that Cocoa usually wears for his blog.  Oh, how outrageous is that?  It can't be allowed to happen.  Everyone, gather in a circle around him and get those things away, he hasn't been here long enough to have earned them!  Let's get closer, uh, ah, look at those eyes......hmmm, I think we might want to humor him and wait until he tires of holding them, don't you?

Will the newbie never learn?

How embarrassing!  Shadow, the newbie from (well you can guess, right) has begun to truly do things that the rest of the house are finding very embarrassing, and, to be honest, distasteful.  For instance:  just the other day he was caught sleeping in the cover of the trash can.  Yes, sadly they caught him in there sleeping away the afternoon like he was in a fancy golden bed or something.  They tried to get him up, but he just snoozed on totally oblivious of their shame.  How could he?  Will he never learn?

The Cat Household is back to normal, or it was.....

Normal at last!  The Cat Household has begun to settle back into their routine and they are loving the peace and quiet after the active (and very loud) Halloween excitement.  Although Thanksgiving and Christmas are now very close, the cats feel that those two holidays are more for relaxing and playing quietly at home than racing about trying to come up with unique outfits that will scare but be easily worn.  And so, here at the Cat Household they sit about and resume their quiet.........what in the world is Mittens doing?

"Mittens, get that flip-flop out of your mouth this minute!"

"Can't, it tastes so **nomnomnom** good."
"Oh how could you, it must be awful?"
"MMMMMMMMMM, sides it strengthens my teeth."
"*******sigh*******, We can dress him up, but we can't take him anywhere!"

It's a beautiful morning in the Cat Household...

The cats have all been resting from their excursions on Halloween Night and now they are ready to take on the world (and their treats).  Today they have been preparing for a business meeting which will possibly give them all the opportunity to go on TV.  They are all very excited at the prospect of this opportunity and have been practicing their confident, well-mannered and sophisticated looks for the camera.  Here is Tigger now with his great look framed in an attractive blue-green coloring.  What do you think?

The Cat Household is back to normal, or is it?

Once more the Cat Household has settled down to a regular routine, but with all the spooky things going on, they have had to limit the treat intake.  They hid the candy where it couldn't be found and put up notices for all to see.  That way the candy can be doled out in measured amounts to avoid any issues that might arise from the excess sugars.  Yesterday it was Dakota's turn to hand out the sweet treats, but....what happened to her eyes?  Wait, I think I see a note, yes, see it?  Right above her head?  It says "who fed the cat?" Oh, Dakota, you were supposed to hand it out not eat it.......
Guess we will have to skip Dakota when her turn comes around once more.  Sorry Dakota, but you become a different cat when you eat too many treats.

Cats love their water...

Cat's, like all animals, need plenty of hydration to remain healthy.  Be sure to give your feline companion fresh water daily (and clean the bowl as often as possible to remove the slimy covering of spit that accumulates while the cats drink).  Your cats (and all your pets) will thank you for it.  PS:  See how much Tiger likes his water.......

Tricks or Treats are over and.......

Looks like Tiger truly enjoyed his tricks or treats.
The Cat Household went out for their annual tricks or treats and came back with huge buckets strapped to their backs and filled with all sorts of catnip treats.  I bet they won't be too active over the next few months, or will they?

Now that the Halloween fun is over for another year, you should be aware that most candies are dangerous for cats (and most animals) so the kids shouldn't share.  Also, all those bright colored, crinkly papers that the treats come in can also be dangerous.  These things are seen as toys and are often tossed about and ripped up (and many times pieces are swallowed).  When disposing of candy wrappers, please be sure to place in a covered container so that the animals can't find them.
